Abstract

To move science forward, researchers have been developing a plethora of instruments and machines, of ever increasing complexity. To achieve their groundbreaking discoveries, a huge multidisciplinary effort is always needed, in which engineering is a key element. In this interview we talk about some of these instruments and machines, and how the developments required to make them work, have helped (or will help) us in unexpected ways.
