Data science: the invisible engine solving emergencies in Chile

Abstract

In the interview with Soledad Onetto (starting at 40:45) on “Después de Todo” on Radio 13C, we discussed how data science is an invisible engine solving daily emergencies in Chile. The conversation proposed looking at three levels of action where prescriptive analytics is changing the rules. We explored designing algorithms to reduce public health waiting lists, modernizing traditional industries like wine production, and applying data to territorial management to design a smarter country. Finally, we addressed the need for transparent models and the changes required in public and private processes to adopt data science efficiently.
